Buffalo Soldier -- Bob Marley

Buffalo soldier, dreadlock rasta: It was a buffalo soldier in the heart of America,
stolen from Africa, brought to America Fighting on arrival,fighting for survival.
I mean it, when I analyse the stench,  to me it make a lot of sense.
How did dreadlock rasta was buffalo soldier.

And he was taken from Africa, brought to America Fighting on arrival,fighting for survival.
Say it was a buffalo soldier,dreadlock rasta. Buffalo soldier, in the heart of America.
If you know your history, Then you would know where you coming from,
Then you wouldnt have to ask me, Who the heck do you think I am.
Im just a buffalo soldier in the heart of america, Stolen from africa, brought to america,
Said he was fighting on arrival, fighting for survival Said he was a buffalo soldier win

the war for america.

Dreadie, woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!
Buffalo soldier troddin through the land, Said he wanna ran, then you wanna hand,
Troddin through the land, yea-hea, Said he was a buffalo soldier win the war for america;

Buffalo soldier, dreadlock rasta, Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival;
Driven from the mainland to the heart of the caribbean.

. The title and lyrics refer to the black U.S. cavalry regiments, known as "Buffalo Soldiers", that fought in the Indian Wars after 1866. Marley likened their fight to a fight for survival, and recasts it as a symbol of black resistance.   (wikipedia)

                                  History of Buffalo Soldiers

When Congress reorganized the peacetime regular army in the summer of 1866, it had taken the above situation into account. It also recognized the military merits of black soldiers by authorizing two segregated regiments of black cavalry, the Ninth United States Cavalry and the Tenth United States Cavalry and the 24th, 25th , 38th , 39th, 40th and 41st Infantry Regiments. Orders were given to transfer the troops to the western war arena, where they would join the army's fight with the Indians. Directed and shot by William Byers.
