In the town where I was born Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life In the land of submarinesSo we sailed on to the sun Till we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves In our yellow submarine
(**) We all live in our yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in our yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
And our friends are all on board Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play
(**)
Full speed ahead it is, Sgt. Cut the cable, drop the cable
Aye, Sir, aye… captain, captain
As we live a life of ease (A life of ease!) Everyone of us has all we need
(Everyone of us, has all we need!) Sky of blue and sea of green
(Sky of blue, sea of green!) In our yellow submarine
(**)
Paul McCartney wrote this one. He explained shortly after it was released in 1966: "'Yellow Submarine' is very simple but very different. It's a fun song, a children's song. Originally we intended it to be 'Sparky' a children's record. But now it's the idea of a yellow submarine where all the kids went to have fun. I was just going to sleep one night and thinking if we had a children's song, it would be nice to be on a yellow submarine where all your friends are with a band." (wikipedia)
